I am departing on Monday 27 May 2024 and arriving in London next day and work my way to the start of the tour, near lands end, fin Cornwall, for the 23 day bike Tour start day of 3 June and finishing on 25 June at John O Groats at the top of Scotland.
Lee -Anne leaves a week later and is taking a friend over who has never travelled internationally. Lee -Anne has a few day in London , then on to Bath to catch up with her sister Tina and then heads up North for Tour of Scotland and Lake District. We meet up on 26 June in Scotland and holiday together working our way down south thru Inverness, Edinburgh, Manchester, the Cotswolds, Oxford and finish in London for 7 nights before heading home back in NZ, arriving home on Friday 12 July.
LEJOG stands for Lands End to John O'Groats. A long standing Bike tour that goes from the Bottom of England in Cornwall up to the Top eastern point of Scotland called Lands end. It's approx 1000 miles and there is no set route but cyclists try to find quiet roads and paths.
This tour is Run by Cycle Britian and is intended to be enjoyed and with a definite tourist mindset in mind as opposed to constant head down-bottom up, hard on cycling. We stay in hotels and our gear is taken by vehicle from place to place, so we aren't carrying large weights like traditional bike touring. In addition most of the riders are older and ride electric bikes. Which I am doing on this tour.

You can also track my progress following live my "dot" as I travel the route using now similar to me , Mapprogress software. The device I carry sends every 5 minutes a signal to salellites of my position and Mapprogress use this for tour events to track participants and families of there whereabouts. there are links on this blog site to do that tracking.
