The Cotswolds-Starting and ending at Moreton in Marsh

Morton in Marsh has special meaning to the Evans Family Went up and spend a day in the Cotswolds, starting at Morton in Marsh Swan Hotel in the background of Bibury in Northern Cotswolds History of why area is Important to Evans Family Dad was a Bomber Pilot during WW2 and was stationed for some time at Morton in Marsh, having met and married my Mum, a British nurse on a blind date in London. Big Brother Colin was born in Morton in the Marsh in Sept 4044. They left UK to return to NZ in early 1945, with coin as a babe back to NZ, after a long stint by dad in Uk and away from home. He flew Wellington Bombers. I saw a Wellington Bomber Museum on the outskirts of town as we passed by on the bus to be dropped off at the train station to catch the train back to Oxford. The young Evans family came back home to NZ. Dad was in action early in the War was based in the Middle East out of Egypt in the bombing of Libya where the Germ...

Day 18 -to Fort William- For most the most difficult day-I was in Heaven

UK's Highest peak Ben Nevis(1345 m) emerging from the Mist above Fort William as we get to board a little Ferry . Been a big day and team are exhausted.boa back across the sea lock to get to Fort William Do they look tired ?waiting for the little ferry to get across the loch and finish last 4 ? off km back to hotel in Fort William Little did I know when I took this photo of a gadget at Breakfast at a dinner 800 m from our campground/lodge that is was a very appropriate image of the day. It was far out and crazy fun in the alpine environment we were soon to enter Looking at Breakfast menus-We were provided with Breakfast and lunch as part of the tour costs. Most breakfast were in hotels but this was in a dinner, so not continental, only cooked An hour and half latter we were at Briefing, Bags packed and ready to roll, well just about The Route Board for today-had some pinch points as we had ferrie...

The magnicant seven tour riders (well actually eight) but seven has better music 🎵

The magnificent seven was an iconic Western cowboy movie with the big shootout and a very famous musical composer in Henry Mancini conducting and composing the movie music. I loved it as a kid. We had in our team 8 people but normally only 7 would be riding normally each day. 6 clients of cycle Britian and one support guide rider which alternated between Andy and Gwen or should I say Gwen and Andy as Gwen started first day and had the odd days so 23 was an odd numbered day. On their "day off riding" they would drive the van carrying our gear and do all the support work which was probably just as hard or harder than riding, with all the work they would do each day that we never saw, but reaped the rewards of (and they road non electric bikes !!!!!!). On this final stretch Andy, who was support that day, raced ahead in the Van and came back on his bike so we were actually 8 this final stretch. Was so fitting. Well it feels a bit strange not getting up...
