Well we are starting to see some Scottish hills, growing in size.
Below is the Wallace memorial as we leave Stirling. This is the memorial to Lionheart
Day 17 briefing by Gwen
Briefing Board
Our second Midge Mossie Board and nothing to worry about
On an old Bridge as we leave Stirling and where I took the first photo of the Wallace memorial
This was me one night way back-That a cocktail by the way
Stats for today.Bit of roady finish on busy road as we also had early in the day. Group member nearly had a serious accident that reminded riders of dangers crossing roads early in the morning. Very sobering and scary. 92 km.
A pretty little loch
Where we had morning tea in a busy little village of Calendar as we head to the Loch Lomond and the Trossechs National park
See the rocky outcrops over the town
Nice riding after Morning tea
Pretty eh
On a old rail trail and a river beside us
another Loch
moving towards Lunch and we came across a really lovely windy trail. which was fun
coming out of that windy path
getting ready to go on the road again. we had lunch in the sun.Best weather we have had so far for Lunch
Took a short diversion to look at loch
as we worked along this rail trail carved into the side of a hill we had a great views
after the climb we moved onto a forestry road which was pretty bumpy and then we moved onto afar. I really enjoyed this bit for riding. A bit of slip sliding around as was quite wet on the ground. Some didn't enjoy so much as some was steep, and very bumpy
Near the end of the farm section came across this ewe stuck in wire with her horns wrapped around the wire and neck caught. Jumped the fence and attempt a rescue. Bit hard case but we achieved and Gwen and I possed for the photos on the fence. poor thing was exhausted so we left her to recover and hopefully fight another day. We told the person staying on the farm and she was going to inform the farm owner. Posted this a day latter as didn't have these photos yesterday
This is Lees tour group that wound up her 8 day tour of Scotland today.
I think that is Stirling castle in background or may be Edinburgh castle ? We catch up tomorrow where Lee -Anne is coming up from Glasgow to Fort William and John us for dinner and the night. First time I have been above her in latitude for a while. Funny that as I was biking out of Stirling she was on the coach driving to Stirling 😀. So close buy missed each other by perhaps an hr or two.. Be great to be together tonight as I type this on Thursday morning
